Ever since high school, I've always had a strong interest in graphics —the relationships of type, color and art to convey meaning. When I got to college, I became more interested in working with computers to manipulate digital media and create art. Several of my art teachers realized that I had a good eye for color and spatial relationships, so they suggested a career as a graphic designer.
I continued to study traditional art techniques and color theory, supplementing my education with art history. In 1998, I graduated with an Art Studio degree in Graphic Design from UAH and I immediately began working as a graphic designer for The Huntsville Times, where I am presently employed today.
After gaining enough knowledge and experience at The Times, I started doing freelance work in my spare time, working on some amazing projects with some wonderful clients. As a freelance artist, working from my home studio allows me to work quickly and economically, yielding savings that I can pass on to my clients.
In my spare time I enjoy working on and restoring my 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle, playing tennis and video games, and cycling. I'm also continuing to learn HTML and web development. Here's a little more info about me:

- Career Goals: Continued success as a graphic designer, learning to master Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, eventually becoming an Adobe certified expert. I'm learning CSS right now and I'm planning to learn Java in 2008. I'd love to begin working primarily on the web.
